North Carolina Women of the Confederacy

Nearly fifty years after the war between the states, Lucy Worth London Anderson who served as the NC Historian of the UDC, compiled one of the first memorial collections honoring the contributions of women to the cause. Her book, North Carolina Women of the Confederacy assembled biographies, anecdotes, letters, reminiscences, and poems concerning Southern women's experience during the war.

This early historical text is now available in a new edition featuring a clean and corrected type setting, historical introduction and annotations, and a valuable index of personal and place names.

Scholars, genealogists and casual readers will appreciate the reintroduction of this Southern classic, prepared under the auspices of Cape Fear Chapter #3.
